In an era when half of all marriages fail, the musical partnership of Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman–better known as Aztec Two-Step–has endured for four decades.

What’s their secret?

We asked Rex, as they prepare to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a folk duo on March 12 at the Sanctuary series in Chatham. The show will be hosted by WFUV’s Pete Fornatele and will include another beloved twosome, Buskin & Batteau.

HIT THE PLAY BUTTON:

In this podcast, Rex shares his prescription for healthy relationships–musical or otherwise–and reflects on the highs and lows of life as a troubadour. Did all those early comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel help or hurt Aztec Two-Step?  How did they survive tectonic shifts in the music industry?  What special Aztec Two-Step projects are planned for the next 40 years?

We caught up with Rex while he was en route to a gig in Caribou, Maine.

Turn up the volume and enjoy the ride.
