Advent and Christmas at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown

There are lots of opportunities for worship and celebrations at The Presbyterian Church in Morristown from now until Christmas.  PCM would like to issue a special invitation to visit our church and greet new senior pastor, Rev. Dr. David Smazik.
Last Sunday during Advent 2010 – December 19

Worship at 9 and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of the Church on the Green, 57 Park Place, Morristown
The Sanctuary lights up with four candles in the Advent wreath.  Rev. Dr. David Smazik, the new senior pastor at PCM, preaches on “Knowing What to Look For” with music provided by the Ringers-on-the-Green, Cantate Omnes and the Chancel Choir.  The Christmas Joy Offering is dedicated.

Vespers Musical Service – The Story of Mary
4 p.m. in the Chapel
The Chamber Singers and guest instrumentalists perform works from Medieval through contemporary times celebrating the Virgin Mary.  Featured is the setting of the “Magnificat” by 18th Century Italian master, Francesco Durante.

Christmas Eve Services
Friday December 24 at 4, 7 and 11 p.m.
Open to the Public
4:00 p.m.   A service for the young and young-at-heart featuring the children’s choirs.
7:00 p.m.   A candlelight service beginning with a 6:30 p.m. prelude by the Ringers-on-the-Green high school bell choir and presenting “The Christmas Story according to St. Luke” by Richard Hillert with adult choirs, guest instrumentalists and vocal soloists.
11:00 p.m.  Following a bell prelude at 10:30 p.m. by the Ringers-on-the-Green, the Chancel Choir leads a traditional service of lessons and carols culminating with the “Ringing-in of Christmas Morn” by the Ringers-on-the-Green.
