Midtown Direct train service from Morristown resumes–to Hoboken–but expect delays

Train service to New York has been restored as of 2:30 p.m., after downed wires west of Secaucus Junction had blocked service between Newark and New York this morning, reports NJ Transit.

But all Midtown Direct service –including the line serving Morristown, Morris Township (Convent Station) and Morris Plains– will stop at Hoboken instead of New York for the rest of the day.

Delays should be expected. Commuters should check NJ Transit for updates.

Morristown police, meanwhile, are urging motorists to proceed with caution on Washington Street near Burnham Park, because of flooding.
