Speedwell Avenue restaurant Marjan Persian Grill is adding something to the menu next month: Wi-Fi.

Restaurant owners Rick and Marjan Manesh hope to accommodate the growing need for meeting space by small businesses without offices or the finances to rent out conference rooms. With free access to the Internet beginning December 1,  the eatery that comfortably seats 45 will charge just for the food that ranges in price from $4.95 for appetizers to $32.95 for the combination kabob dinner.

The couple from Harding opened the restaurant in July after Rick Manesh, 53, worked eight years in restaurant management, then another 18 years as an authorized AT&T Telephone Systems agent in Madison and Morristown.

He had long wanted to open up a spot that served up Persian cuisine, and after growing tired of the cell phone business, he and his wife of 28 years became restaurateurs over the summer.

The lunch crowd over the past five months included several business groups of up to 20 talking supply, demand, marketing and sales and the topic of free Internet access was often raised.

Coffee shops offer that, but don’t have the square footage to handle the corporate-type gatherings. Their restaurant, however, has the space and the location is ideal, directly across the street from a beehive of business executives year-round, the Hyatt Morristown.

The restaurant is located at 84 Speedwell Avenue and is open Monday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays, noon to 10 p.m. For more information, call 973-889-8884 or visit their Web site, www.marjanpersiangrill.com.
