Weeks of rehearsal are over. It’s show time!
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes has a preview performance today for senior citizens and opens for everyone on Friday at 7:30 pm at Morristown High School, with encore performances Saturday night and Sunday at 3 pm.
The storyline has changed a bit from the 1953 film starring Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. But their 21st century counterparts, MHS senior Noelia Mann and junior Carolina Alvarez, promise an entertaining cruise.
Last year, the school began adding music to its annual fall production so more students could get involved, said Director Joe Wohlgemuth, an actor and playwright who now has directed six shows at MHS.
Bottom line: Audiences will come away from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes “smiling, singing some 1920s songs, and just in a good mood,” Joe said. “It’s a lot of fun.”
