At 8 pm, The Minstrel in Morris Township features An Evening with Headlong Retreat, a harmonious sextet backed by the 12-member Ad Hoc Chorale, “featuring Cheerful and Lugubrious Songs with various Intimate and Grandiose Arrangements and Stagings, on Diverse and Sundry Themes.” The second half will be a narrated presentation called Hymns for Hard Times.
Normally, large-scale shredding at town hall would pique the FBI’s interest. But from 9 am to 1 pm, it’s strictly legit. Bring your sensitive documents in paper bags or cardboard boxes weighing under 10 pounds to the town hall parking lot. Cost is $3 per bag or box, to benefit the Morristown Kiwanis High School Scholarship Fund. The event is co-sponsored by the Morristown Kiwanis and the Morristown Clean Communities Program. Come early–when the truck fills up, the shredding’s over.
The Market Street Mission’s annual coat giveaway is scheduled for the Morristown Green from 10 am to 1 pm. Coats can be donated at the Mission’s Thrift Store on 25 George St.
Didn’t get enough graveyard time over Halloween? Then join author Kemper Chambers’ tour of historic Evergreen Cemetery in Morristown at 1 pm and find out who’s underfoot. Admission is free; any donations will benefit the Joint Free Public Library of Morristown and Morris Township.

Paris on the Green? Check out America’s Most Wanted on Fox at 9 pm to see Morristown’s United Methodist Church, Braunschweiger Jewelers, the Dark Horse Lounge and Provesi stand in for Liechtenstein, Serbia and…Paris! Sick of football? At 2 pm the Bickford Theatre in Morris Township presents a concert, Marquee Melodies:
The Music of the Movies, starring jazz singer Laura Hull. She will explore some rarely heard gems from such great films as To Have and Have Not, Rhythm on the River and Song of the Thin Man. Tickets: $15 to $25.
If you prefer to march to the beat of a different drum, parade over to Morristown’s Community Theatre at 3 pm for Streat Beat, an assortment of drummers, musicians and dancers who will bang out urban rhythms, break dances, hip hop moves and more. All tickets: $25.
