A lot is happening around Morristown this weekend. Here are some highlights; for lots more, see our great calendar.

FRIDAY:

The Presbyterian Church on the Green kicks off its lunchtime concert series at 12:15 pm with flutist Allison Kiger, accompanied by violinists Ming-Feng Hsin and Wen Qian (both from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra), violist Denise Stillwell and cellist Gwendolyn Nguyen. Admission is free; lunch may be purchased at the concert.

The Presbyterians also are holding their 86th annual bazaar this weekend. A preview (suggested donation: $10) is scheduled for 7 pm to 9 pm at the Parish Hall on 65 South Street, and doors open again on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm.

From 5 pm to 9 pm,  the 34th annual Morristown CraftMarket takes over the Morristown Armory. More than 150 artisans will be selling high-quality works at this juried event, which continues Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $10 at the door; children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Proceeds benefit many local charities.

The Minstrel features Brian McNeill, from the Scottish folk group The Battlefield Band. Much of his solo material centers on his native Scotland. Opening for Brian are The Geezer & The Kid: The Minstrel’s own Mike Agranoff on guitar and 18-year-old fiddle champ Connor Dugan of Dugan’s Hooligans. The show starts at 8 pm and costs $7.

SATURDAY:

On Saturday and Sunday, the TV show America’s Most Wanted will be filming an episode in Morristown. Braunschweiger Jewelers, the United Methodist Church, Provesi, and the Dark Horse Lounge are standing in for European locations. The episode, about an international ring of jewel thieves, is expected to air in early November.

How can you help your parents plan for a happy and healthy retirement?  An elder care expo and estate planning symposium at Morristown’s Calvary Baptist Church may point you in the right direction. The event runs from 9 am until 1 pm at the church, on 10 Martin Luther King Ave.

From 10 am to 1 pm, you can join the Morristown Environmental Commission on a free bus tour of open space in town. The bus leaves from town hall on South Street.

At 1 pm, the Morristown High School Colonials kick off against the Delbarton Green Wave in Morris Township. MHS seeks revenge for last year’s 14-13 loss.

At 8 pm, the Dicey Riley Irish Band and friends, harpist Linda O’Connell, and the Randolph Strings orchestra will play a benefit at Assumption Church on Maple Avenue to help Africa Surgery Inc. Suggested donations are $10 for adults, children free.

Also at 8 pm, in nearby Chatham, Jesse Colin Young of the Youngbloods (Get Together) performs at the Sanctuary concert series. Admission is $25.

SUNDAY:

The 14th annual Community Soup Kitchen Hunger Walk will be registering participants at 1 pm, with a 3.1-mile walk to follow. Donations of any size are welcome. Proceeds benefit the kitchen, which has been feeding a growing number of people since the economy nosedived.
