Bike-in movie night and garden tour kicks off Bike-o-Rama Week in Morristown

Leading up to the the always awesome Art of the Bicycle Show at Marty’s, Morristown is having a week-long celebration of fun and easy bike rides around town.

Bike Morristown’s Bike-o-Rama week starts Saturday with a tour of Morristown Gardens, including the Early Street Community Garden, the garden behind Macculloch Hall, and the Urban Farm at Lafayette.

Following the garden tour, the Early Street Garden will host Bike-In Movie night for the second year running. This year the evening features some short films from a bicycle-themed film festival held in Portland, Filmed by Bike.

Musical guest Ken Kusama is filling in for Monster Truck Fan Club (which hopefully will make it to Morristown for another event soon!). Music starts at about 7 pm, followed by the movies.

Bike Morristown is a new organization mostly dedicated to having fun, and if we can get you out on a bike, even better.

The rest of next week’s schedule includes a ride to the the Traction Line on Sunday to pick up a bit of trash near the entrance, a Meatless Monday ride to Carmel Haifa in Morris Plains for hummus and falafel, and Tuesday Cruise night for laid back types.

On Wed., Sept. 22,  there is a Fall Equinox Adventure Ride, followed on Thursday by a harvest ride with hot cider afterwards. On Friday, the regular Morristown Critical Mass Ride takes off from town hall at 6:30, concluding with the highlight of the entire week: The third annual Art of the Bicycle Show.
