Want to try some environmental time traveling?  On Saturday you can learn about Morristown’s most beloved green space, the historic Morristown Green, and then tour its most exciting new green space, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation’s home, 14 Maple Ave.

Just a block from the Green, the 14 Maple Ave. building boasts geothermal wells, a rooftop garden, solar power and an interior “bio wall” of vegetation that purifies the air.

“This is about Morristown’s sustainable past and its sustainable future,” said Carol Barkin of the Morris County Tourism Bureau.

She will lead the Morristown Green portion of the 90-minute tour, sharing “300 years of highlights” including Revolutionary War anecdotes and the story of the Green’s recent facelift.

Cynthia Evans of the Dodge Foundation will handle the second half of the presentation.

The tour starts at 10 a.m. at the tourism bureau on Court Street. The cost is $10; reservations are requested. Call 973 631-5151.  If you can’t make it on Saturday, you will get a second chance on Aug. 7.
