State-, Morris County and Morristown town offices are closed. The Mayo Performing Arts Center has postponed Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox until Sunday, May 14, 2017. Contact the box office for ticket details, 973-539-8008.

As of 10:00 am, Morris County had received 6.5- to 8 inches of snow, with 9- to 11  inches anticipated before it starts to lighten up by 11 am, said Jeff Paul of the Morris County Office of Emergency Management.

All of the cancellations and closures were prudent, he indicated:

“Our call volume in the Morris County Communications/911 Center is relatively light. Private vehicles being off the roadways has been a big help for our road crews, emergency response vehicles and has certainly contributed to our lighter then normal call volume.”
