You didn’t think we’d skate through the entire winter without shoveling any snow, did you?

The National Weather Service says six inches or more of heavy, wet snow could be heading our way on Wednesday night, Feb. 8, 2017, into Thursday afternoon.

“The heavy snow and poor visibilities at times could make travel dangerous. Significant impacts to the Thursday morning rush are likely,” according to the agency.

Forecasting models suggest 4- to 10 inches of snow are possible across Morris County, according to Jeff Paul of the county’s Office of Emergency Management.

Temperatures may drop overnight Wednesday from the low 40s to around freezing, with gusts up to 30 mph.

” The event will likely begin as snow north of the I-78 corridor. Elsewhere, rain will change over to snow from northwest to southeast late Wednesday night into Thursday
morning,” the National Weather Service predicts.

“Sleet may mix briefly during the transition from rain to snow. The snow could be heavy at times late Wednesday night and Thursday morning before tapering off from west to east
during the afternoon Thursday.”
