Let’s hope Olympic triple-jumper Christina Epps won’t have to jump any snow banks for her Gallery of Fame induction in Morristown.

The induction ceremony at MHS has been pushed from Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, to Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 am, to avoid a forecast of snow, sleet and freezing rain that stretches to Saturday afternoon.

Saturday’s fifth annual Morristown Merry Tuba Christmas , scheduled for the Morristown Green, has been scrubbed entirely.

“Due to loss of venue related to possible inclement weather, Morristown Merry Tuba Christmas is CANCELLED for this year,” organizer John Palatucci posted Friday on Facebook .

The tubists had hoped to toot inside the high school as a fallback plan… but that fell through.

Two- to four inches of snow could accumulate early Saturday before the changeover occurs, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are anticipated to rise considerably on Sunday, before a hard freeze late on Sunday night.

Olympian Christina Epps, soccer star Connor Lade, volunteer Ted Baldanzi and football’s Flynn Boys are among the weekend’s scheduled honorees.
