St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown presents The New York Classical Players, a dynamic and versatile chamber orchestra composed of talented young musicians committed to bringing free, high-level concerts to diverse audiences in the greater New York City metropolitan area.

On Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, from 3 pm to 5 pm, Dongmin Kim, conductor and musical director, presents Baroque and Beyond, an exquisite pairing of Baroque and contemporary music: Two representative composers in each era.

The performance includes Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 and Handel’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 5.

In contrast, a multi talented musician, Andy Lin, will grab the audience’s attention as solo violist on Tabakova’s Suite in Old Style. The program ends with a Pulitzer Prize winner, Jennifer Higdon’s Dance Card.

Highlights of Mr. Kim’s career include appearances as guest conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center as well as a series of sold-out performances of the The Magic Flute. He has the distinction of conducting orchestras across the United States, Canada and abroad.

Among the many awards Conductor Kim has received the distinguished Herbert von Karajan Fellowship resulted in a residency with the Wien Philharmonic Orchestra at the Salzburg Music Festival.

The talented Mr. Kim is also a noted violist, having held principal positions at the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, Seoul’s Yonsei Symphony Orchestra and the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Kim graduated from Yonsei University, where he was awarded the Music Merit Scholarship.
