Broadway star  Laura Benanti  will perform at the 18th annual Starlight Ball, a fundraiser for the Mayo Performing Arts Center that will honor Morristown Medical Center, on Nov. 12, 2016.

(Morristown, NJ)- Get set for a great night “On the Town” as Mayo Performing Arts Center holds its 18th annual Starlight Ball Gala on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 6:30 pm at the Hilton Short Hills.

The Starlight Ball is MPAC’s largest fundraising event of the year. Morristown Medical Center will be the honored guest during this evening of elegance and entertainment reflecting a night out in Old Manhattan. The gala will feature a performance by Tony Award-winner Laura Benanti, as well as MPAC’s Teen Performing Arts Company.

“The Starlight Ball is an opportunity for the Mayo Performing Arts Center to honor our most outstanding supporters and partners such as Morristown Medical Center, and to shine a spotlight on the breadth of our education programs,” said Allison Larena, President and CEO of MPAC. “This fundraiser brings the community together to celebrate MPAC’s vital role as one of the state’s most innovative arts institutions.”

The Starlight Ball features an exciting array of silent auction items, dinner, and dancing to the Tom Costello Orchestra. Guests are also treated to a performance by MPAC’s Performing Arts Company, comprised of two dozen talented aspiring artists between the ages of 12-18. Sponsorship packages are available from $5,000 – $25,000. The event is co-chaired by Wendy Aresty of Morristown, Marylyn McLaughlin of Morristown, and Charles Meizoso, Jr. – of Randolph.

Starlight Award Honoree Morristown Medical Center (MMC) is being recognized for its longstanding commitment and dedicated support of the Mayo Performing Arts Center. Located in Morristown, NJ, MMC is a nationally-ranked regional medical center and a recognized leader in cardiovascular medicine, orthopedics and nursing. The hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a top hospital nationwide for cardiology and orthopedics. Guest performer Laura Benanti just completed her 2016 Tony nominated role as Amalia Balash in the hit Broadway musical, She Loves Me. Other Broadway roles include her Tony-winning performance in Gypsy, Nine, Into the Woods and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. She is also known for her roles in on television, she can be seen as Alura Zor-El in Supergirl. She has also starred on Nashville, as well as her critically acclaimed performance as Elsa Schrader in NBC’s The Sound of Music LIVE.
