Greater Morristown got walloped twice by storms in July. So it’s only fair that we get a reprieve this time.

Our area looks like it’s “in the clear” from Tropical Storm Hermine, according to Jeff Paul of the Morris County Office of Emergency Management.

In a statement on Sunday morning, Paul said:

The storm continues to drift to the east/northeast. A turn back to the north is still possible later today/Monday, but we don’t think it will be enough to really impact our weather. Today will be dry with a northeast wind of 10-15 mph. We may experience a few showers tomorrow (no heavy rain expected) and winds of 15-25 mph but we feel that we are in the clear with respect to having any negative weather impacts at this time.

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for much of the Jersey shore, however, with strong winds, tidal surges and beach erosion possible through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Happy Labor Day weekend!
