What’s a party without cake?
The National Park Service will celebrate its 100th anniversary with free cake, courtesy of Blue Morel Restaurant Executive Chef Bobby Varua, on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at 2 pm.
The party is at the Washington’s Headquarters Museum, at 30 Washington Place, Morristown. You are invited.
After the cake-cutting, Park Service Chief of Interpretation Vanessa Smiley will present a short program in the museum auditorium on the history of the National Park Service.
“This once-in-a-lifetime celebration is a way for us in the National Park Service to work with the community and say thank-you to the public,” said Dr. Jude Pfister, chief of cultural resources for the Morristown National Historical Park, in a statement.

Becoming a part of the National Park enabled Morristown to become a unique County Seat that still retained its character and charm.
