Re-enactors from the Royal Sussex Society – 35th Regiment of Foot brought the Boer (pronounced Bore) War to Ringwood State Park over the weekend, to demonstrate camp and  military life during that conflict.

The Second Boer War was fought between British forces and the South African Republic with the Orange Free State from 1899-1902.
It was one of the first modern wars to be fought with magazine-fed rifles and machine guns.  It led to the British annexation of the region until South Africa achieved independence in 1910.
