With more blazing heat predicted for the coming week, the town of Morristown is giving residents five chances to cool off, free of charge, at the Burnham Park Pool.

Free admission to the pool will run from Monday, July 25, to Friday, July 29, 2016, Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office announced on Saturday.

Just bring i.d. to prove residency.

The town seniors center, on the third floor of town hall, also will be open as a cooling center during the week, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Extreme heat can be dangerous. The town offers these safety tips:

“If possible, stay out of the sun; avoid strenuous activity; drink plenty of water; and wear lightweight clothing.”

The cooling center opens whenever temperatures top 90 degrees, according to the Morristown police.
