THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2016:

Laced Up in Love: A Tale of Two Weddings explores the late 19th century marriages of two of Morris County’s most prominent women. At 1 pm at Morristown’s Acorn Hall, Drew University Ph.D. candidate Nicole Rizzuto will “reveal the lifestyles, marriages, and motherhood” of Mary Crane and Florence Vanderbilt. The Morris County 4H Fair runs through Sunday at Chubb Park in Chester.  Animals, music, balloon rides, fireworks. The Uke-A-Likes are even scheduled to perform on Friday night. See the 4H website for more.

What Are Historic Preservation Commissions All About?  It’s a free 7 pm talk by Jonathan Kinney of the NJ Historic Preservation Office, at the Morristown & Township Library, One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey  presents Shakespeare’s political drama Coriolanus, at 8 pm in the F.M. Kirby Theatre at Drew University, 36 Madison Ave., Madison. Tickets: $25-$75. Call 973-408-5600 for details.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey  presents The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (abridged)(revised) at 8 pm on the Outdoor Stage of The College of Saint Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road, Morris Township. We saw this show last week; it’s hilarious. Tickets: $25-$35. Call 973-408-5600.  Shows run through July 31, 2016.

If at first you don’t succeed… Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam returns to Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 pm to re-do a March show cut short by the performer’s ill health. Tickets: $39-$69. At 100 South St. Call 973-539-8008 for more.

FRIDAY, JULY 22:

Jazz in July: Songs from Broadway Musicals comes to the Morristown & Township Library at 7 pm, featuring feature Carrie Jackson on vocals, Bob McHugh on piano Ron Naspo on bass and David Humm on drums. Admission: $20 at the door; proceeds benefit the library. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

The Cottage Garden Concerts continue at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township with Eclectic Pop with Dani Zanoni at 7 pm. Admission: $15. Seating is limited; register at 973-326-7603.

SATURDAY, JULY 23:

The Morris Plains Farmers Market is back, on Saturdays from June 11 to Oct. 8, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Speedwell Avenue Merchant Block across from the train station.

Dig It! Plant It! Eat It! is a free gardening program for kids, from 10 am to 11:30 am, in the garden at Morristown’s Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, at 45 Macculloch Ave. The program runs each Saturday in July; read all about it right here.

Jeff Boyer brings his Bubble Trouble kids program to the Morris Museum at 11 am. For ages 3-9. Tickets: $10 Members / $12 General Public. At 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township. Call 973-971-3706 for more.

The Freemasons formed a Morristown chapter, Cincinnati #3, in the early 1800s. Tour their building and view their artifacts, at 1 pm. Admission: $15. Limited to 30 people. At 39 Maple Ave. Call the Morris Tourism Bureau to reserve a space.

SUNDAY, JULY 24:

The Morristown Farmers Market is back for its 26th season, every Sunday through Nov. 20 from 8:30 am to 2 pm, in parking lot 10 between Morris and Spring streets.

Worship on the historic Morristown Green at 10 am with the Presbyterian Church in Morristown and the Morristown United Methodist Church. With a timely musical performance by a local ensemble.

Morris Township officially opens the Ted Largman Community Garden, in the new ValleVue Preserve on Picatinny Road at 11 am.
