The 46th annual Big Greek Festival was hosted over the weekend by St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church in Randolph.
It was a celebration of Greek culture and heritage, and for that day everyone is a Greek.
There were carnival rides and games for the kids, traditional Greek food like Gyros (pronounced YEE-ros), Souvlaki, and traditional sweet Greek pastries. And of course Greek yogurt.
Rev. John Theodosion gave a tour of St. Andrew’s church including its icons, frescoes, and beautiful stained glass windows and domed ceiling.
He also explained the central tenets of of the Greek Orthodox faith and answered questions from the attendees.
The Junior St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church dancers took the stage in their colorful traditional dress and performed Greek folk dances for the very enthusiastic crowd.
As a finale, they invited friends and family to join them on stage and dance with them.
