At the Summer STEM Institute (SSI), boys and girls have the ability to explore all STEM fields. They will work in teams, meet new friends and perform hands-on experiments that make science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) come alive.

The SSI program has been designed and vetted by STEM educators and professionals to be fun and age-appropriate. Hands-on activities help students learn the academic concepts behind the experiments.

The program will run for six sessions beginning July 5, 2016 and running through August 12, 2016. The grade 1 program is a half day program remaining at the Patriots’ Path council service center in Cedar Knolls and running for four weeks.

About Summer STEM Institute

Summer STEM Institute was created in 2015 after the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America was charged with leading the first pilot program. After a very successful inaugural summer, the program moved from their first location at the council service center in Cedar Knolls to its current location at Saint Vigil Academy in Morris Plains; just a few minutes down the road. The first grade program will remain at the council service center. The new location accommodates more participants. SSI is a program run under the Learning for Life division of the Boy Scouts of America.
