THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 2016:

Morris Arts unveils its 15th show, Black, White and Green, at the Gallery at 14 Maple, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Works by 11 artists from New Jersey and New York will be featured in an exhibition inspired by the gallery’s living “biowall.” Admission: Free.

mr. holmesThe Morristown & Township Library continues its Sherlock Holmes film series at 6:45 pm with Mr. Holmes (2015), starring Ian McKellen as an aging sleuth. Admission: Free. At One Miller Road, Morristown.

FRIDAY, MARCH 4:

Grace Episcopal Church in Madison presents a half-hour Lenten lunchtime organ recital at 12:15 pm, featuring Eric Stroud, presenting French works.Admission: Free, along with desserts and drinks afterward. Sandwiches and wraps available for $6. At 4 Main St., corner of Kings Road.

The St. Patrick’s Parade is just a week away. And the anticipation ramps up with the Reception for Grand Marshal John Hyland at the Madison Hotel, from 6 pm to 10 pm. Live music by the Willie Lynch Band, dancing, hors d’oeuvres. Donation: $85 (cash or check only). At One Convent Road, Morris Township.

The Odessa Klezmer band headlines at The Minstrel at 8 pm, with openers The Baron-Montemurro Duo. Admission: $9; children 12 and under, free. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road.

Have a song in your heart? Share it at the Piano Bar, in the Parish House at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church at 9 pm. Admission: Free.  At Miller Road and Maple Avenue, Morristown.


SATURDAY, MARCH 5:

Six Morristown wellness studios are offering free classes from 8:30 am to 3 pm, and contributing donations to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Details are at Morristown Moves.

It’s the final weekend for Toying With Art: The Animal Kingdom, an exhibition of creative uses of toys, at the Morris Museum in Morris Township. Hours are 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and noon to 5 pm on Sunday. Admission: $7 to $10, kids under 3 are free. At 6 Normandy Heights Road.

The Morris County Park Commission presents a Maple Sugar Festival from noon to 4 pm, at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham. Admission: $4 per person, age 3 and up. Rain or shine.

The Harmonium Choral Society  presents Why Do the Nations Rage, at 8 pm at the Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 Park Place. Tickets: $25, $20 for students/seniors. Encore performance on Sunday at 3 pm. Call 973-538-6969 for more.

SUNDAY, MARCH 6:

morris county winter farmers market posterThe Morris County Winter Farmers Market has a new home, Morristown’s Alexander Hamilton School, from 10 am to 2 pm every Sunday through April. Organized by the Foodshed Alliance and Sustainable Morristown, the market aims to present up to 25 vendors of locally grown produce. At 24 Mills St.
