The Morristown Festival of Books on Monday announced it’s returning for a third year, on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 2016.
Once again, more than 25 authors are anticipated to speak at five venues.
All events are free except the Friday keynote, which returns to the Mayo Performing Arts Center.
Nearly 3,500 people attended last fall’s festival, with a sold-out crowd for the keynote, according to the organizers.
This year’s keynote speaker will be announced in early spring, with the author roster to follow in May. Anyone interested in volunteering can drop a line here.
To whet your appetite, here are videos of four fascinating talks from the 2015 festival:
- Edward J. Larson reveals George Washington’s quiet-yet-crucial role between the Revolution and the Presidency.
- Gail Sheehy reflects on a pioneering career in journalism.
- Héctor Tobar takes us into the mine where 33 Chileans were trapped for two months.
- A.J. Jacobs tries to practice what the Good Book preaches for an entire year…with results ranging from profound to hilarious.
