NJ Transit says it will resume rail service on the Morris-Essex line starting with the 12:05 pm train out of Dover, and the 12:12 pm out of Hoboken, on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016.

nj transit NJ Transit travel to New York will be delayed because of a morning derailment.Trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule, including Midtown Direct trains into Manhattan, according to the agency.

Bus service is expected to resume gradually, with delays anticipated because of road conditions.

NJ Transit had shut down all operations statewide early on Jan. 23 as Winter Storm Jonas hit New Jersey. The blizzard dumped 33 inches on Morris Plains, according to the National Weather Service.

System-wide cross-honoring remains in effect Sunday, meaning that NJ Transit customers’ tickets will be honored on rail, light rail or bus. These passes also will be accepted by private carrier buses.
