THURSDAY, NOV. 26, 2015, THANKSGIVING:

The Ninth Annual Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run springs into action at Ginty Field, on Woodland Avenue in Morris Township, with registration at 7 am, and racing at 8:30 am. Proceeds benefit the Interfaith Food Pantry and the Literacy Volunteers of America. Call 201-323-2327 for more.
At 8 pm, tune into TLC for Broadway at the White House. Six students from the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s education program mingle with First Lady Michelle Obama and a slew of entertainment superstars.
FRIDAY, NOV. 27:
One of the entertainment world’s great showmen comes to The Minstrel in Morris township at 8 pm: Jazz guitarist Frank Vignola. Make that two great showmen — Frank’s sidekick Vinny Raniolo doubles your pleasure, doubles your fun. Opening for them are The Four Baris. Admission: $9, children 12 and under, free. St. Margaret’s Church in Morristown hosts an hour of zumba at 9 am. Cost: $10. At 6 Sussex Ave.
It’s Small Business Saturday — and what better way to do that than with gift certificates from the Morristown Partnership? Starting at 10 am, until supplies run out, you can get $20 in free Gift Greenbacks for every $50 purchased, up to $500 per household. Just in time for the holidays, the Woman’s Club of Moristown presents its Vendor Sale: Candles, jewelry, purses, cosmetics, graphic t-shirts, antiques and more. Proceeds
benefit Project Gratitude, providing gift bags of toiletry items to female veterans at the Lyons Veterans hospital. From 10 am to 4 pm. Admission: Free. At 51 South St.
Mooseltoe is back! A moose with an impossible dream yearns to fly with Santa’s reindeer in this holiday “moosical,” at Morristown’s Mayo Performing Arts Center. Ages 4-10. Shows at 1:30 pm and 4 pm. Tickets: $12-$15.
All aboard the Santa Claus Special at the Whippany Rail Museum! A 45-minute train excursion with The Kringle himself pulls out at 4 pm. Better book tickets right away–they’re going fast. Did someone say Santa? After his train ride (above), he’s flying to the Green, where he will take up residence in his Santa House for the next few weekends during the Morristown Partnership’s annual Christmas Festival on the Morristown Green. The festivities start at 5 pm. Greet Mr. Kringle as he descends from the Century 21 roof, deliver your list to the big guy, and enjoy caroling and holiday cheer on the Green.
At 6 pm, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown presents Advent Lessons and Carols, featuring the Boys, Girls, and Adult choirs singing works by Barstow, Carter, Hurd, MacMillan, Mckie, Wood and others. At the corner of South Street and Miller Road.
