A dozen Morristown organizations receive Morris Arts grants

Two dozen Morris County arts organizations will share $51,000 in grants from Morris Arts in 2016. Half of the winners are from Morristown:

Art in the Atrium, Inc.; Arts! By the People; Coro Lirico; First Night ® Morris County; Harmonium Choral Society; Masterwork Chorus; MidAtlantic Opera; Morris Choral Society; Morris Music Men ; Morristown Neighborhood House; Music at Morristown United Methodist Church, and St. Peters Episcopal Church.

Rounding out the grantees are:

The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey (Dover); Blackwell Street Center for the Arts, Inc. (Denville); Chatham Community Players (Chatham); County College of Morris (Randolph); Dance Innovations Performance Foundation (Chatham); Drew University (Madison); Fairleigh Dickinson University- WAMFEST (Madison/Teaneck); Hanover Wind Symphony (Whippany); India Culture Foundation (Parsippany); Lakeland Youth Symphony (Parsippany);  Opera at Florham (Convent Station); and Zufall Health Center (Dover).

Morris Arts will award another $2,000 in mini-grants during the coming year.

Based in Morristown and established in 1973, Morris Arts is a nonprofit dedicated to building community through the arts. Using the arts to inspire, connect and engage, Morris Arts serves as a resource for Morris County with a special focus on arts programming in the schools and in the community, arts advocacy, and support of the Morris Area community of artists and arts organizations.
