Video: Halloween sounds from Yankees organist Ed Alstrom

For all of you who can’t get enough Halloween candy in your diet, here’s a belated treat: Some classically scary organ music.

It’s a bit of a departure for Ed Alstrom, who normally entertains crowds with jaunty tunes at Yankee Stadium.

And while he undoubtedly would have preferred to have been playing at the World Series instead of the Sanctuary series, he still did a spooktacular job on Saturday at the Sanctuary’s Halloween show,  where he opened for John Ford Coley and Terry Sylvester at the Presbyterian Church in Chatham.

Keep watching after Alstrom finishes playing– he shares some tasty tidbits about what arguably is the greatest horror theme song ever.

MorristownGreen.com readers also may remember Alstrom as the former organist at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer on South Street.

Next up at the Sanctuary: Jimmy Webb, with a tribute to Glen Campbell, on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015.
