A young bear paid a visit to the Morristown Green on Monday morning, attracting a crowd as he scampered from tree to tree..

As of 1:30 pm, he was lazing in a tree across from Century 21. Police cordoned off the area and were awaiting the arrival of experts from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

The bear was spotted earlier in the morning in Evergreen Cemetery, and near dumpsters behind Panera Bread. Police are asking people to stay away from the Green–for the safety of people and the bear.
