Video: Restaurateur Chris Cannon talks with MorristownGreen.com

Chris Cannon has launched lots of great New York restaurants.  But his dream come true, he says, is the Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen, which opened last fall in Morristown.

We caught up with Cannon on Sunday at Festival Earth, on the lawn of Jockey Hollow.

In this short video interview, he shares how…

  • He attempted to avoid coming off like a “carpet-bagger from New York”
  • Why he raised $50,000 for the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown
  • Why he’s keen on Morristown and the Garden State after years on the Manhattan scene
  • His farm-to-table philosophy
  • The secret to a successful restaurant
  • Tidbits about the spectacular Vail Mansion, which he renovated for Jockey Hollow.

Our thanks to Sustainable Morristown, hosts of Festival Earth, and to our videographer, Emily Sullivan, and to Karen Escalona, who ran the “Green Room” for our Seen on the Green show.

Here are some great shots from Sunday by MorristownGreen.com photographer Bill Lescohier.
