We’ll be hosting an interview show at Festival Earth on Sunday, featuring some of Greater Morristown’s leading sustainability advocates.
The hour-long Q & A starts at 1:30 pm, on the Vail Mansion lawn at 110 South St. in Morristown. All sorts of entertaining and informative activities are planned between noon and 5 pm, so mark May 17, 2015, on your calendar!

Earth Day is not the only time to celebrate the planet. Join Sustainable Morristown at Festival Earth, on the grounds of the Vail Mansion (110 South St., Morristown) on Sunday, May 17, 2015, from noon to 5 p.m. The free festival will demonstrate simple ways that every person can make more planet-friendly, sustainable choices in their daily lives, and will have events and activities for all ages.
Festival Earth will include a Sustainable Living Expo, Performance Stage, Arts Showcase, Farmers’ Market, Hybrid – Electric Auto Show, Healthy Foods Pavilion, Valet Bike Parking, and more. Attendees are also invited to bring old jewelry or accessories to participate in a “jewelry swap,” and Whole Foods is hosting a cleaning product swap, providing an eco-friendly product to anyone bringing an old cleaner. The Arts Showcase will feature two hands-on art experiences for adults and children.
“Sustainability is much more than just environmental conservation,” says Paul Miller, Board President of Sustainable Morristown. “It’s about making our community strong and resilient for future generations. That includes supporting local economies and promoting social equity in addition to protecting the environment.”
Festival Earth will be a near-zero waste event. Free filtered water will be available and attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles or can purchase one at the event. There will also be complimentary bicycle valet parking and a shuttle running from the Town Hall parking lot every fifteen minutes.
Festival Earth is presented by the Daily Record’s Grassroots section, Covanta Energy, Whole Foods Morristown, and the Hyatt Morristown.
