The Drew University Center for Holocaust/Genocide Study presents the last part of After Liberation: The First Five Years, 1945–1950, a three-part seminar, from 4 pm to 6 pm in Room 106 of the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, at Drew University in Madison. Grow It Green Morristown and the Foodshed Alliance continue their Food For Thought film series, with a 7 pm screening of Genetic Roulette, “an unsettling tour through a myriad of serious health conditions implicated with genetically altered crops, from allergies to diabetes and autism.” Guest speakers are Rachel Linden of GMO Free Arizona, and Sam Rothman, plant ecologist and co-founder of GiGM. The Presbyterian Church in Morristown presents Collage on Broadway, an assortment of Broadway favorites performed by church musicians of all ages, directed by Julie Ramseyer, director of children’s music at the church. At 7 pm, at 57 East Park Place. Admission: Free.
THE SILK CITY CONCERT IS SNOWED OUT; RESCHEDULED FOR JULY 31.
The Minstrel in Morris Township features Silk City at 8pm, with opener Rick Ilowite. Silk City features three highly sought-after musicians: Bluegrass guitar virtuoso Danny Weiss; Barry Mitterhoff, a mandolinist for Hot Tuna; and Larry Cohen, a top session bass player. Ilowite is a fingerstyle blues guitarist and past president of the Folk Project. At the Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morris Township. SATURDAY, MARCH 21:
The Fifth Annual Community Garden Conference runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Township. The day starts with keynote speaker, Joseph Simcox, a botanical explorer who has traveled the continents searching for food. “His talk will inspire us to see the food as the connection between cultures and encourage us to continue to seek sustainable agricultural processes,” according to Lesley Parness, Superintendent of Horticultural Education for Morris County. Sessions include Preserving Your Harvest, Crop Rotation, Asian Vegetables, Garden Coordinator Roundtable Discussion, and Attracting Pollinators. Admission: Free. Register here.

The Harmonium Choral Society hosts its second annual Broadway Cabaret Fundraiser, at 7:30 pm at Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison. Choral members will perform songs from Hammerstein and Kern to Jason Robert Brown and Andrew Lippa. Music, wine, coffee and dessert will be served, with a silent auction during intermission. At 8 pm, the Bickford Theatre in Morris Township presents a star-studded Festival of Sound to raise money for The Seeing Eye Inc. The show features pianist Grover Kemble, formerly with ShaNaNa and ZaZuZazz; Rio Clemente, the “Bishop of Jazz”; Marty Eigen, leader of the Beacon Hill Jazz Band; Carrie Jackson, the “Divine Jazz Diva”; Rob Paparozzi, lead singer with the Blues Brothers Band and Blood Sweat and Tears; Gene Perla, formerly with Sonny Rollins, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone; and Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, billed as the world’s most recorded drummer. SUNDAY, MARCH 22:
Charity begins at home, and a local family can use some help. Pedal for a Cure for an hour, between 8 am and noon, to raise money to fight Ocular Melanoma, a rare cancer affecting the Giardina family, owners of the South Street Creamery. The event is at NBD Training Zone, 40 Park Place, Morristown. Spin for an hour; organizers promise your $35 fee will go directly to this cancer research. The 2015 Pearl & Julius Young Music Competition, sponsored by The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey—Baroque and Beyond, features a dozen of the area’s top young musicians, starting at noon. Each young artist will perform a piece by Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Dvořák, Barber, Hüe, Wieniawski, Sarmientos, Reinecke or Khachaturian.
