Come heck (ahem) or high water, the Morris County St. Patrick’s Parade is scheduled to step onto South Street as scheduled at noon on Saturday, March 14, 2015.

The route moves west from 200 South Street, opposite Kings supermarket, loops around the Green, then jogs west on Washington Street and turns onto Atno Avenue to end at Morristown High School.

Morristown police advise that they will be setting up these detours and road closures between 11:30 am and 3 pm:

  • Westbound Traffic on South Street will be detoured at Hamilton Road.
  • All roads intersecting South Street will be detoured during the parade.
  • All roadways approaching the Green will also be closed and detours will be in effect.
  • Washington Street will be closed to eastbound traffic at Mills Street.
  • Speedwell Avenue (Rt. 202) southbound will be closed at Spring Street to through traffic.
  • Morris Street westbound will be closed at Spring Street.
  • Market Street will be closed at Maple Avenue.

Police advise motorists to expect heavy congestion around downtown Morristown; plan alternate routes if possible. Allow adequate time if you are attending the parade.

And a reminder: Parking is free at metered spaces and in select garages from 10 am to 3 pm, courtesy of the Morristown Parking Authority.  Click to enlarge the MPA map on our homepage to see the garages.
