This will come as scant comfort to residents shoveling out from Saturday’s storm, but Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty’s office on Sunday morning announced free garage parking for residents, through 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.

Participating Morristown Parking Authority garages are:

DALTON PARKING GARAGE (CATTANO AVENUE)
ANN/BANK PARKING GARAGE
DEHART GARAGE
VAIL PARKING DECK (ACCESS FROM SOUTH STREET)

As always, residents must produce a driver’s license as proof of residency to have parking fees waived.

Sunday’s forecast calls for temperatures to rocket to almost 40 degrees…and then plunge back to 14 overnight, creating hazardous black ice conditions.  Monday only will reach about 18 degrees, with a wind chill making it feel like minus-3.

  1. Too bad that we didn’t receive this notice until 9AM on Sunday after the snow stopped. I do really appreciate that the town allows us to park in the garages which saves me from cleaning the snow off my car and shoveling. I have taken advantage many times both last year and this year.
