Only a handful of racers were able to finish Saturday’s 50 km race for fat-tire bikes, said Marty Epstein of Marty’s Reliable Cycle.

The race started at Speedwell Lake in Morristown and stretched to Chester and back.

If riders want inspiration for next time, they can listen to former German racing pro Jens Voigt, who will address Marty’s annual Rep Night on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at The Skylands at Randolph.

The event runs from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm and will feature vendors and bike company representatives, in addition to a Q & A with Voigt.

Voigt has won the Critérium International a record-tying five times, along with a several one-week stage races, and two Tour de France stage victories. Last fall he set an hour record.

Tickets are free, but pre-registration is required.  A suggested $5 dollar donation at the door will help support local trail maintenance by JORBA, the Jersey Off Road Bicycling Association.
