Sometimes, you’ve just got to grin and bare it.

That’s what Anthony Nerio did on Sunday at the fourth annual Pre-Game 4-Miler in Morristown.

His skimpy red-white-and-blue thong so impressed the attending fans that they voted him No. 1 in the Best Undressed category, edging out shivering competitors Karl Leitz and Erika Meling for top honors.

“It’s for the ladies!” Nerio explained, repeating it twice for anyone whose ears had iced over.

The temperature hovered around the freezing mark as nearly 1,000 runners embarked from the Maple Avenue starting line at 11 am on Super Bowl Sunday.

“It wasn’t that cold,” insisted Nerio, 25. “I went to school in Vermont.”

The Clifton resident, who won a massage for his troubles, recommended this sort of Northern (and Southern) Exposure for all runners.

“It’s very liberating,” he said.

Nerio added that he intends to defend his crown next year . . . though we’re not sure how he can out-do himself without scandalizing the Sunday morning church crowds.

We’re also not sure how his new-found fame will play at the office.

“I’m a bouncer,” Nerio said.
