A worker sustained serious injuries to his leg when an airplane hangar collapsed at Morristown Municipal Airport on Friday morning, police reported.
The 35-year-old man fell from an unknown height when the hangar, which was under construction, collapsed, said Morristown Police Lt. Stuart Greer.
The man was treated by emergency services personnel from the Morristown Ambulance Squade and and Atlantic Health Paramedics, and then was transported to Morristown Medical Center in stable condition, Lt. Greer said.
A second male worker, aged 37 from Little Egg Harbor, was treated for minor bruises to his arm and also transported for evaluation, the officer said.
Morristown police and fire departments responded to the collapse, reported at 11:16 am.
Representatives from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were on the scene to assist in the investigation. As of lunchtime, the cause of this collapse had not been determined.
