For well over a hundred years, Morristown High School has been home to budding artists, high school sweethearts, future scientists, grunting wrestlers, marching Colonials and … dinosaurs?!

Dinoman's Dinosaurs are coming to First Night Morris County.

That’s right. DINOMAN is bringing his life-sized prehistoric friends to MHS, which becomes Kids Central on New Year’s Eve for First Night Morris 2015And grownup kids should enjoy the fun, too.

Starting at 4:45 pm, everything turns AWESOME inside the MHS Cafeteria. If your child loves to create and imagine, you will be in the right place. Building Kidz will help children become master builders, while introducing LEGO robotics — the latest evolution of LEGO.

During the same time slot, the MHS café will host fine artist Christine Wagner. Join ART 4 KIDS and create an original work of art. What better way to commemorate the start of a fantastic 2015?

If you need to jump-start your creative juices,  stop by the MHS auxiliary gym  from 4:45 to 6:45 pm, when Whirled Revolution hula-hoops in the New Year!  The founders of this Sussex-based group believe dance and celebration are basic foundations of flourishing communities — and that hooping contributes joy, strength and healing.

Jugglers, face painters and musicians will fill the school’s atrium at 7 pm, as part of First Night’s Children’s Fun Festival.

Also at 7 pm, the MHS stage hosts the one and only DINOMAN!   Promising magic, magnificent props and marvelous tales from the Mesozoic era, this show should be a hit with all dinosaur fans.

All you other creepers out there will be in good company come 7:15 pm, when Rizzo’s Reptiles slither into the gym. With an entourage of lizards, toads, frogs and snakes, no single parent will be dateless at midnight. Hey, you never know what that first kiss of 2015 will get you? Hope Rizzo brings enough frogs.

Another sure-fire way to grab a date for midnight will follow the 9 pm fireworks display.

Square-dancing with Mary Moody is scheduled for the MHS auxiliary gym. No partner or experience is necessary. You may just want to keep one of those frogs handy.. again, you never know!

We look forward to seeing all of you build, create, dance, and hoop. See you at MHS on New Year’s Eve!
