Video: Patricia Lazzara, flute, and Kristy Chmura, harp

Here’s some lovely Irish music to soothe your day. It’s from A Midwinter’s Daydream, last week’s Music at Noon concert at the Morristown United Methodist Church.

The video features Patricia Lazzara on flute and Kristy Chmura on harp, performing Innis Orr and the Star of County Down.

Patricia is an award-winning flutist whose credits include soloing for the Papal visit to Giants Stadium in 1995. She also is a founding member of UpTown Flutes, an ensemble-in-residence at Drew University in Madison.

Kristy is a 2003 graduate of The College of New Jersey who has performed with numerous area orchestras and concert bands. She also composes, sings and plays harp with an alternative trio, double-breasted.

The title of this Music at Noon performance is taken from the concert program; online we saw a couple of spellings of Innis Orr.  Perhaps our Irish readers can share some history of the place, and the piece?

Next up for Music at Noon: Organist Brian Harlow, Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014.

This month’s series concludes on Dec. 18 with The Christmas Singers, always a holiday treat. These half-hour shows are free, with a light lunch available for purchase. Music at Noon is celebrating its 35th season; it’s a delightful way to spend a lunchtime.

The church is at 50 Park Place. Call 973-538-2132 for more.
