Morristown High School’s impressive boys soccer season ended on Wednesday night with a 1-0 loss to Scotch-Plains Fanwood, in an NJSIAA Group IV semifinal match in Somerville.

soccer ball“I’m really sad right now, but when you think about it, we made history for our school,” striker Oscar Garcia told the Daily Record.

The Colonials (18-8) won their first sectional title last week, defeating Passaic Tech in double overtime.   They beat Belleville, Ridgewood and Morris Knolls to get there.

But on Wednesday they ran into a Raiders team (22-3) that now has played five straight tournament games without yielding a goal, according to the newspaper.

Congratulations to Coach Brian Kiernan and his players for an historic season.
