On a dark and rainy Saturday night at Kearny High School, the Colonials finish the season with a 49 – 0 pounding of the Kearny Kardinals in a konsolation kontest.

Before the kickoff it’s clear that Kearny is over-matched. The Colonials offensive line — Brian Fajardo, Theodore Vogtman, Roshawn Morris, Alexis Villegas and Samari Robinson — dwarfs their opponents at the line of scrimmage and gives quarterback Dallas McCall free rein to use all of Morristown’s scoring weapons.

Jordan Powell scores four times and finishes the night with 100 yards receiving. Seniors Treyshawn Gwynn and Khair Pettiway and Sophomore Jesse Unger each add touchdowns. Ethan Bolson has a busy night with four touch-backs and seven PATs.

On the other side of the ball, Jordan Powell is the Minister of Defense for Motown at the safety position. Kearny does not make a first down or even enter Colonials territory until the second quarter.

Ryan Wilson, Andrew Benvenuto and Khair Pettiway clear the airspace of passing attempts . In the trenches, Anton Buchner, Jesse Unger, Ryan Becker, Alexis Villegas, Matthew Napoleon and Justin Burke blow through the line to scrimmage to swarm the Kearny offense.

At the half, the Colonials lead 42-0. In the second half the officials let the clock run due to the 35-point rule, so the second half is only 30 total minutes. For the parents, it’s nice to get out of the wintery mix, but disappointing that the last game ends so quickly.

Other notables include the rushing debut of future varsity stars Freshman Jhamil King and Drew Chilson, who both slice through the Kearny defense with several 10-yard rushes.

Many thanks from the fans to the leadership of the 2014 Seniors : Treyshawn Gwynn, Khair Benbow, Dallas McCall, Jordan Powell, Andrew Benvenuto, Isiah Pinnock, Ryan Wilson, Cody Heaton, Anton Buchner, Alexis Villegas, Shakeem Benbow and Roshawn Morris. Thank you. You guys gave the fans a great show this year.

Senior notables on offense for 2014:

Dallas McCall finishes among the top five NJ starters with a QB rating of 127. Dallas also lands in the top five with a 63-percent completion percentage, and 2575 total yards. Dallas throws for more than 2000 yards this year.

Jordan Powell’s contributions on defense are key for the Colonials. Jordan also leads the Division in scoring with 24 TD’s and ranks 12th in the state with 803 receiving yards.

Tre’shawn Gwynn ends the year with five Tds and 374 yards, 12th in the Division for rushing yards.
