You can’t get in shape in one weekend. But you certainly can get a start.
Wellness: Mo-Town returns on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, to showcase more than 35 health and wellness providers and nonprofits ready to jump-start your fitness goals.
“We had such a tremendous response last year and we are looking forward to using what we learned to improve upon this year’s Wellness: Mo-town,” Marisa Sweeney, event organizer and owner of Be Well Morristown, said in a statement. “We are anticipating a large turnout.”
The event runs from noon to 5 pm on the Vail Mansion lawn, on South Street in Morristown.
Sweeney, who also is active in the Morristown Women in Business group, said that all vendor fees and donations will go to the nonprofit Sustainable Morristown, which promotes sustainability in Morristown, and to Bike & Walk Morristown.
Mayor Tim Dougherty and Councilman Michael Elms, an avid runner, are scheduled to appear.
Practitioners of traditional medicine, nutrition, fitness, acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic, yoga, and environmental and social wellness are on the roster.
Visitors can check out free health screenings, spa and wellness treatments, eco-friendly vendors and fitness and dance classes. Music and other activities are planned, too.
