Welcome back, Dan Wagner. Dan has been on the disabled list until this game, which he starts off with an over-the-shoulder grab of a Jake Buchner pass to start the Morristown High School Frosh on their way to a 31-point Monday afternoon in Mount Olive.

Touchdown! Score is 12-0, Colonials.

The Frosh defense must be watching varsity tape. On the next series, Mount Olive gets swarmed by Justin Peirro, Kristian Demogerodakis, Gary Smith, Robert Schneider, Finn Hubbard, Masuid Young, Machel Campbell, Michael Heaton and the rest of the team, forcing a turnover on downs.

First play from scrimmage, Drew Chilson takes a schoolyard bomb from Buchner, defeats one would-be tackler with a stiff-arm, and it’s 75 yards in for the third Frosh score. At the half, it’s 18-0.

Kick-off to start the second half, and it’s Jhamil King’s turn. Starting on his own 20, on the right side of the field, Mt Olive has him bottled up for what looks like no run-back. Jhamil disagrees.

Churning his feet on every blade of grass, and weaving though all 11 defenders (actually it was probably 22 or so because many tacklers missed more than once), Jhamil wills his way into the end-zone again.  Colonials go up, 24-0.

On the next series, Wagner catches another pass, but this time it’s from the Mount Olive quarterback.

After a three-and-out, the Marauders score on a long drive. Now, it’s 24-8. Next series is the same. Three-and-out for the Colonials, and Mount Olive scores. It’s 24-14 now.

You might wonder where is Jhamil King? He’s focusing his mind on returning a kickoff. This time, the return starts on the 10. Then it’s just a track meet, with defenders chasing. No Olives get within five yards of Jhamil as he blows the doors off to the end-zone. Final score: 31-14.

Special shout out: Masuid Young suffered two severe fractures in his right arm during the game and will need surgery this morning. He is at Saint Claires in Denville. Please let him know we are there for him.

UPDATE:  This is from Masuid’s mom on Tuesday:

Masuid is doing well after his surgery this afternoon.  He should be discharged tomorrow morning sometime.  Thank you all for your well wishes. They really picked up his spirits! !!!!!
