Basically, there are two ways for young people to learn about detectives:

1. Get in trouble.

2. Attend a talk.

We recommend Option 2.

sleuth with magnifying glassIf you are between ages 14 and 20, and are curious about the life of a detective, mark Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, on your calendar.

Daniel Coleman, a retired detective from the Morris County Prosecutor’s office, will address Law Explorer Post 22 at 7 pm, in the Morris County Records and Administration Building on Court Street in Morristown.

The Explorers post is chartered by the Morris County Bar Association. More details are below, from the Boy Scouts of America.

Explorer Post for High School Students Interested in Careers in Law

All high school students are invited to our next meeting, Monday, September 29th, from 7:00-8:00 pm, across from the county courthouse in Morristown in the Records and Administration building.

This month’s topic is: The Role of the Detective in the Legal Process.

Our guest speaker is Daniel Coleman, 25 year veteran detective, retired from the Morris County Prosecutor’s office, founder of the Morris County Burglary Task Force, four years assigned full time to the Newark Field Office of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and owner of Creative Solutions Investigative Services.

Law Explorer Post 22 is chartered by the Morris County Bar Foundation. Young men and women interested in learning about careers in the practice of Law are welcome. Law Explorer Post 22 will meet monthly, giving Explorers the opportunity to interact with attorneys, legislators, judges and other experts in various fields pertaining to Law.
