The weather was shirt-sleeve comfortable at Saturday’s Fourth Annual Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival.
But the stage glowed red-hot as the sun began to fade.
The blues portion of the program roared into gear with Mikey Junior and his band, and climaxed with British guitar ace Matt Schofield and his power trio–completed by organist Jonny Henderson and drummer Ronnie Smith.
Ronnie told us he only joined Matt’s tour two weeks ago. The drummer from Oakland, Ca., sure learns fast!
“Jonny Henderson is incredible. I don’t miss a bass player when I play with that guy,” Ronnie said after the trio’s two-hour set. “And Matt is the Next One. He comes from the right roots: BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan.”
Look closely at these photos–if you attended, you may appear somewhere in these shots.
And stay tuned. More photos and videos are coming.
So how did you enjoy the show? Who would you like to see onstage next year? Have a favorite photo? Send it over with caption info and we’ll post the best ones.
And if anyone found a ratty Twins beach towel on the Green… please let me know. It’s got some sentimental value! 😉
