Meet Me in Morristown got off to a good start last month. On Thursday, we’re aiming to beat the sophomore jinx by enlisting some gifted past- and present sophomores to perform for you.
MorristownGreen.com will serve some tasty talent from Morristown High School and beyond, in front of Strawberry Fields Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt, at the corner of South and Pine streets, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The date: July 31, 2014.
Jordan Rabinowitz, one of the winners of the 2014 Morristown’s Got Talent show, tops our roster.
The recent MHS grad is a multifaceted entertainer: He acts, sings, writes songs, plays standup bass, and in a pinch, can even build his own instruments. He fashioned a Greek-style lyre from LEGO bricks, ukulele strings and wood scraps for his senior Classics Academy project.
On Thursday he’ll perform some original tunes with fellow grad Michael Chase. Their acoustic duo is called Minno; here is a production they whipped up for another Classics Academy project at Morristown High:
They helped run the high school’s music coffeehouse, and are working on a CD of original music before heading to college this fall–Jordan to the University of Rochester (engineering), and Michael to Drexel (music business).
Jordan also will perform on Thursday with Sydney Prusso, ’14, another veteran of the MHS coffeehouse scene and theater department. She will study graphic design this fall at at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
