A severe thunderstorm watch for Morris County remains in effect through 10 o’clock tonight, July 3, 2014, and a flash flood warning runs through noon tomorrow, July 4.
That’s according to the National Weather Service, which advises that “this is a dangerous storm. if you are in its path…move indoors to a sturdy building and stay away from windows.”
Just before 8 pm, Doppler radar showed a “line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size hail…and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph,” along a line extending from Forks to Bloomsbury to Frenchtown to Sergeantsville…or along a line extending from northwest of Trenton to Easton.
The storms were churning northeast at 35 mph.
