The robbery happened around 10:45 am inside an office within one of the hospital’s garages.

“No patients, employees or visitors were injured,” the hospital said in a statement released by spokeswoman Margaret Goldberg.

The alleged perpetrator reportedly fled on foot on Madison Avenue,” according to the statement.

Morristown police referred questions to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. There was no immediate comment from that office on Sunday evening.

“The safety of our employees, patients and visitors is our top priority on every Atlantic Health System campus,” the hospital statement continued.

“At this time, there has been no impact to hospital operations and no restriction to access the hospital. We have taken additional measures to continue to provide for the safety and continued care of our patients and the well-being of our visitors and staff as we work closely with authorities in this ongoing investigation.”
