Dozens of Girl Scout troops from all over northern New Jersey came to Morristown this month to join the effort to help Girl Scouts in the Philippines rebuild their lives after a devastating typhoon struck last November.
The Morristown Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey organized the collection of 699 backpacks containing badly needed school supplies to be sent to the Philippines.
More than 230 Girl Scouts attended the “Share” event at the Woodland School on April 4.
The scouts are also raising funds to provide replacement Girl Scout uniforms for Filipino girls who lost theirs in the typhoon.
