MorristownGreen.com correspondent Berit Ollestad may be the closest thing we have to a modern Florence Nightingale.
When Berit isn’t breaking news for MG, she is saving the world, one charity drive at a time. Last weekend, she was selling blue light bulbs outside of Kings to promote Autism Awareness Month.
Among other good deeds, she has helped the Morristown Fire Department collect toys for kids at Christmas and organized Hurricane Sandy relief projects. Berit has spearheaded charity missions for the poor of Brazil and, perhaps most famously, she organized a truckload of relief items for Alabama tornado victims.
But charity really does begin at home, and Berit proved it on Thursday when she surprised her “hippie mom,” Jackie, with an Ambush Makeover on the Today show!
It’s a really sweet video, showcasing a couple of really sweet people. Share this with friends as an early “Happy Mother’s Day” gift. Thanks for brightening another rainy day, Berit!
Touched my heart. Good for you.
