It’s National Meatball Day, and what better way to celebrate than by cramming your face with a pot o’ balls?
Millie’s Old World Meatballs & Pizza of Morristown is hosting an all-you-can eat contest today, March 9, 2014, and the adult winner will emerge $500 richer.
There is a Junior competition, too. Not sure what prize awaits that winner. Gnutella pie, perhaps?
The first heat is at 12:30 pm, and the second is scheduled for 4:30 pm. Red Bulls soccer player and former Morristown High star Connor Lade is on the guest list, and so is WDHA-FM.
Of course, there will be meatball pizza specials all day at 60 South St.
We hear that 10 contestants have entered in each division; if you want to crack the lineup, try shooting Millie’s an email.
And while we don’t advise trying this at home–meatball-eating contests should be left to professionals–adventurous souls will find a tasty recipe in this TV segment featuring Vincent Carrabba and Pete Martinez from Millie’s.
